After battling lung cancer for 6 years, Rachel finally succumbed to the disease on 1st June 2009. She passed away peacefully at Myton Hospice, with her family by her side. Rachel loved life and lived it to the full. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her, especially with how bravely and positively she fought the disease. She will be so sadly missed by all. Rachel was an ardent supporter of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and did a lot of great work with the organisation and with raising awareness of the disease. We feel this is such a fitting and worthwhile tribute to a wonderful and remarkable wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
